THE ORIGINAL ICON
Nimrod
Aproximately 4300 years ago, the Bible describes a man by the name of Nimrod who:
"was a mighty hunter before the LORD."... "He began to be a mighty one in the earth."...And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. Being made strong, he went out forth from the land of Asshur, and built Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah, And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.
THE STORY OF NIMROD
Historians now agree that Nimrod
was this same individual as the historical Ninus. The city
Ninevah, literally means in Chaldean, "habitation of Ninus."
Ninus was the first to build cities which liberated mankind to live in
safety in a time when animals dominated the land. Since only 8 people
had come from the ark, compaired with thousands of animals, animals dominated the then world which consisted of dense jungle climate
in the post flood era. As a result, humans lived in constant fear of being attacked
by animals. Ninus, who eventually became worhsiped as the "God of
Fortresses" built cities and surrounded them with walls, thus giving
man refuge from these beasts.
Ninus was ellegedly a giant, some ancient depictions portray him as up to twenty feet tall. He became famous for his might by killing a bull with his bear hands.
He then tore the horns off and fashioned a crown out of them. This
was the model by which most crowns were designed from, especially the vikings.
The Horn, or points became a symbol of strength.
After some time it was Noah's son Shem, who seeing how Nimrod was taking the world the same direction had Nimrod captured and brought to Egypt. at the time, shem would have been about 500 years old, and a father of a 3rd of mankind. Understandably his influence would have been tremendous. Since he was the noblest of Noah's sons, it possible that he was the most respected indiviual in the world. In pagan religion he was represented as the boar, which has tusks growing from his mouth, thus symbolizing that his power was in his mouth. He was also given the name "Typho" and was refered to as the evil god "typhous" whom they later named the disease typhoid after. After Shem captured Ninus, he had him tried before the elders of egypt and put to death. he then had the pieces of his body sent to each of the cities he had founded as a warning not to continue in his ways.
While he was alive, Ninus had taken for a wife, the most beautiful women in the world. Her name was Semiramus. after Ninus died, semiramus claimed that he hadn't really died but that his spirit went up to the sun and was reborn in her womb as her son. She then named the child Tammuz.
This form of religion inspired
every religion of the day, except ofcourse for religion of Abraham, who
came soon after. In egypt it was Isis and Osirus, in India, divaki and
sheva, in Rome Belle and ..., . So similar were all these religions that
when Rome united the nations of the world, they all realized this and
made a new goddess in Ephesus, and named her Diana. On her chest she had
9 breasts, representing that she was the mother of all the gods.
* Temple of Diana in Ephesus, dedicated to Artemis. 120 year project considered to be one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world.
When catholithism came upon
the scene, it began slowly adopting the symbols and ideologies of this
religion. Christianity had become an unstoppable force, so in attempts
to harness its power, the kings of the day decided to encorporate it into
the religions of their land. Before long, Roman Catholithism became the
most complete form of ancient Babylonian sunworship. Every single icon,
idol and image was adopted. even the pagan festivals of ishtar or easter
and christmans, and lent were encorporated. practically every doctrine
was revised to satisfy the majority of the followers of this new religion,
who were mostly pagans. At this time, the Jews who made up a large percentage
of christianity, left and scattered with the many devoted gentile christians
who would also have nothing of this new form of religion.
